یگانگت بعض لوگوں کا خیال ہے کہ ’’یگانہ‘‘ فارسی لفظ پر عربی کی تائے مصدری لگا نا غلط ہے، لہٰذا ’’یگانگت‘‘ درست نہیں، ’’یگانگی‘‘ ہونا چاہئے۔ یہاں پہلی بات تو وہی ہے جو میں جگہ جگہ لکھ چکا ہوں، کہ یہ لفظ عربی کا ہے ہی نہیں، ہمارا بنایا ہوا ہے اور رائج ہوچکا ہے۔ میکش اکبرآبادی نے اعجاز صدیقی کے نام اپنے ایک خط میں ’’احساس یگانگت‘‘ لکھا ہے۔ دوسری بات یہ کہ ’’یگانگی‘‘ ہمارے یہاں دوسرے معنی میں ہے۔ ’’یگانگی‘‘ کے معنی ہیں ’’یگانہ ہونا‘‘، یعنی یہاں یائے مصدری لگا کر فعل بنایا گیا ہے۔ ’’یگانگت‘‘ کے معنی ہیں، ’’قرابت، دوستی، مونسی، جذباتی ہم آہنگی ‘‘، وغیرہ۔ ’’نوراللغات‘‘ میں بھی یہ لفظ انھیں معنی میں درج ہے۔ دو الگ الگ معنی میں یہ دو الگ الگ لفظ ہیں۔ دونوں میں سے کسی ایک لفظ کو کم کرنے میں نقصان ہے۔
