تنسیخ بمعنی’’منسوخ ہونا/کرنا‘‘۔ یہ لفظ خالص اردو ہے، بدیں معنی کہ اردو والوں نے عربی مادہ ن س خ سے تفعیل کے وزن پر یہ لفظ بنالیا ہے۔’’منتخب‘‘ اور’’آنند راج‘‘ اور’’دہخدا‘‘ میں اس کا اندراج نہیں ہے۔ ’’اردو لغت، تاریخی اصول پر‘‘ میں اس کو عربی بتایاگیا ہے، حالانکہ یہ عربی نہیں ہے۔ ’’نور‘‘ اور پلیٹس کو بھی یہی دھوکا ہوا ہے۔ شیکسپیئر میں یہ لفظ درج نہیں ہے۔ اس سے اندازہ ہوتا ہے کہ یہ لفظ ہمارے یہاں بھی بہت پرانا نہیں ہوا ہے۔ بہرحال، اردو میں یہ بالکل صحیح ہے۔ صرف یہ خیال رہے کہ اس پر عربی کا گمان نہ کرنا چاہئے۔
