مسلمانی بمعنی ’’ختنہ‘‘ اور بمعنی ’’عضو تناسل‘‘، دونوں صورتوں میں مؤنث ہے۔ دہلی میں’’ختنہ‘‘ کے معنی میں’’مسلمانیاں‘‘ بھی کہتے ہیں اور واحد مراد لیتے ہیں۔ بعض دوسرے علاقوں، مثلاً بھوپال میں بھی ’’مسلمانیاں‘‘ کہتے ہیں اور واحد مراد لیتے ہیں۔ یعنی دونوں جگہ یوں کہتے ہیں: ’’اس کی مسلمانیاں ہوچکی ہیں‘‘، بمعنی ’’اس کا ختنہ ہوچکا ہے۔‘‘دیکھئے، ’’ختنہ‘‘۔
