- ۱. اپنے ذمّے کوئی بار یا کام لینا، ذمہ داری وکالت؛ (عموماً) کفیل ہونا، نان نفقہ، خرچ وغیرہ کا.
- ۲. شے مکفولہ یا مرہونہ، جو چیز رہن رکھی جائے، جو شے گروی رکھی جائے نیز تحفظ.
