خلاصہ کرنا ’’خلاصہ‘‘ ہمارے یہاں ’’تلخیص‘‘ یا ’’مختصر بیان‘‘ کے معنی میں ہے۔ صحیح: گذشتہ سبق کا خلاصہ کیجئے۔ صحیح: اس پوری بات کا خلاصہ یہ ہے کہ ۔۔۔ اس کے علاوہ ’’کھل کر اجابت ہونا‘‘ کے معنی میں بھی ایک محاورہ ’’پاخانہ خلاصہ ہونا‘‘ پورب کی عوامی اردو میں ہے۔ گذشتہ چند برس سے ’’خلاصہ کرنا‘‘ کو ہندی والے ’’بات کی تفصیل بیان کرنا‘‘، ’’کسی معاملے کو صاف صاف بیان کرنا‘‘، ’’مبہم پہلوؤں کو کھول کر بیان کرنا‘‘ کے معنی میں بولنے لگے ہیں اور افسوس کہ اردو میں بھی بعض لوگ اس بدصورت اور گراں فقرے کو برتنے لگے ہیں۔ اسے یک قلم ترک ہونا چاہئے: غلط اور قبیح: ہربات کاخلاصہ کرنابہت ضروری ہے۔ صحیح و فصیح: ہر بات کو صاف صاف بیان کرنا/ہر بات کا استقصا کرنا/ہر بات کو مفصل بیان کرنا/ ہر بات کے مبہم پہلوؤں کو کھول کر بیان کرنا وغیرہ۔
