براہ کرم ’’براہ کرم‘‘ اور ’’برائے کرم‘‘ دونوں صحیح ہیں۔ اگرچہ لغات میں ’’براہ کرم‘‘ درج نہیں لیکن یہ پڑھے لکھے لوگوں کی زبان پر مدت سے ہے۔ اسی طرح، حسب ذیل بھی صحیح ہیں، اگرچہ لغات میں نہیں ملتے: براہ خدا، براہ مروت؛ براہ مہربانی؛ براہ نوازش۔ یعنی مندرجہ بالا فقروں میں’’برائے‘‘ لکھیں یا ’’براہ‘‘ لکھیں، دونوں صحیح ہیں۔ لیکن ملحوظ رہےکہ حسب ذیل فقروں میں صرف ’’برائے‘‘ ہے، ان میں ’’برائے‘‘ کو ’’براہ‘‘ سے نہیں بدل سکتے: برائے اصلاح؛ برائے بیت؛ برائے تسلی؛ برائے چندے؛ برائے نام دیکھئے؛ ’’برائے‘‘۔
