बाईं ओर की नाड़ी इड़ा; दाईं ओर की नाड़ी पिंगला और इन दोनों के बीच की नाड़ी सुषुम्ना कहलाती है। इस सुषुम्ना नाड़ी को ही अवधूती कहते हैं। उद्बुद्ध कुंडलिनी इसी से होकर सहस्रार स्थित शिव तक पहुँचती है।
