تمازت بعض لوگ اس لفظ کو غلط سمجھتے ہیں، کیوں کہ عربی میں’’تموز‘‘ تو ہے، ’’تمازت‘‘ نہیں ہے۔ بے شک یہ عربی میں نہیں ہے، لیکن اردو والوں نے اسے بروزن ’’ہلاکت‘‘ قیاس کرلیا ہے۔ اس طرح یہ مہند بالعربی ہے اوراردو کی حد تک بالکل صحیح ہے، جس طرح’’فلاکت‘‘ اور’’نزاکت‘‘ اردو میں بالکل صحیح ہیں، اگرچہ عربی نہیں ہیں۔ ’’اردو لغت، تاریخی اصول پر‘‘ میں ظہیر دہلوی کی ’’داستان غدر‘‘ سے فقرہ ’’تمازت آفتاب‘‘ نقل کیا ہے، یعنی ظہیردہلوی لفظ ’’تمازت‘‘ کو فارسی/عربی الفاظ کی طرح مرکب کرنا صحیح سمجھتے تھے۔ تماشا یہاں حرف آخرالف ہے، نہ کہ ہائے ہوز۔ بعض لوگ اس لفظ کو ہائے ہوز سے لکھتے ہیں۔ یہ غلطی کچھ بہت پڑھے لکھے لوگوں کے یہاں بھی در آنے لگی ہے۔ وزیرآغا کی ایک کتاب کا نام ہے، ’’غالب کا ذوق تماشہ۔‘‘ اگر’’تماشا‘‘ کو ہائے ہوز سے لکھیں تو اس لفظ کے مرکبات، مثلاً ’’تماشائے گلشن‘‘ کو صحیح لکھنا دشوار ہوجائے گا، اور’’تماشائی‘‘ وغیرہ لفظوں سے ہاتھ دھونا پڑے گا۔
