طبابت اول مکسور، بمعنی ’’طب کا پیشہ، یا طبیب کا کام‘‘، یہ لفظ فارسی والوں نے’’طب‘‘ سے بنایا ہے لیکن تعصب کا یہ عالم ہے کہ اسے نہ’’آنند راج‘‘ میں جگہ ملی ہے نہ’’لغت نامۂ دہخدا‘‘ میں۔ ’’دہخدا‘‘ میں ’’طب‘‘ پرایک طویل عبارت ہے جس میں’’طبابت‘‘ دوبار آیا ہے، لیکن خود ’’لغت نامہ‘‘ اس لفظ سے خالی ہے۔ اردو میں یہ بہرحال بالکل صحیح ہے، صرف اتنا خیال رکھیں کہ اس کو عربی نہ سمجھیں، جیسا کہ بعض اردو لغات میں بتایا گیا ہے۔
