पोंछना के हिंदी अर्थ
सकर्मक क्रिया
- किसी स्थान पर जमी हुई मैल, बना हुआ चिह्न आदि हटाने या दूर करने के उद्देश्य से उस पर सूखे अथवा गीले कपड़े का टुकड़ा रगड़ते हुए फेरना। जैसे-जमीन या फरश पोंछना, तख्ता या स्लेट पोंछना। संयो० क्रि०-डालना।-देना।-लेना। पुं० १. वह चीज जो कुछ पोंछने के काम में आती हो। जैसे-पर पोंछना = पाँवदान। २. वह चीज जो पोंछने पर निकलती हो। जैसे पेट पोंछना। (देखें)।
- सूखे कपड़े के टुकड़े को इस प्रकार किसी अंग, वस्तु या स्थान पर फेरना कि वह उस स्थान की आता या नमी सोख ले। जैसे-रूमाल से आंसू या पसीना पोंछना, नहाकर तौलिये से गीला शरीर पोंछना।
