विशेष • साधु लोग सहारे के लिए काठ का एक साधन बनाकर रखते हैं, जिसे बैरागिन कहते हैं, वे उस पर हाथ रखकर एक ही आसन से दिन भर बैठे रहते हैं और थकते नहीं। अब अगर इस 'बैरागिन' को कोई पेडू का सहारा देकर बैठे तो उससे वह और थक जाएगा। यहाँ अलाव का अर्थ आग के लिए इकट्ठा किया गया ईंधन भी हो सकता है। अतीत= साधू, संन्यासी।
