- वह मवीज़ जिसके बीज निकाल डाले गये हों, मुनक़्क़ा का अर्थ है, पेट साफ़ किया हुआ, चूँकि मुनक़्क़े के बीज निकालने से उसका पेट साफ़ हो जाता है, इस कारण उसे मुनक़्क़ा कहते हैं, मगर अब मुनक़्क़ा उसका नाम ही पड़ गया है

- بیج نکال کر صاف کیا ہوا، بڑا سوکھا انگور، منقا (عموماً دوا میں مستعمل)، منقیٰ کا مطلب ہے 'پیٹ صاف کیا ہوا' چوں کہ منقیٰ کے بیج نکالنے سے اس کا پیٹ صاف ہو جاتا ہے، اس وجہ سے اسے منقی کہتے ہیں، مگر اب منقیٰ اس کا نام ہی پڑ گیا ہے
