- ایتھر ایسے نامیاتی مرکب ہیں جن میں دو کاربن ایٹموں کے درمیان آکسائڈ یا ایتھر بانڈ موجود ہوں ۔۔۔۔۔ آکسیجن کے ساتھ منسلک دونوں گروپ (الکائل یا ابرائل) اگر ایک سے ہیں تو ایسے ایتھر متشاکل ایتھر کہلاتے ہیں اور جب دونوں گروپ مختلف نوعیت کے ہوں تو ان کو غیر متشاکل یا مخلوط ایتھر (MixedEther) کہا جاتا ہے
