- (۱) ایک بڑی قسم اس کی شاخیں سفیدی مائل ہوتی ہیں پتے اخروٹ کے پتوں کی طرح مگر ان سے چھوٹے ہوتے ہیں ان سے بدبو آتی ہے ہر شاخ کے سرے پر گھنڈی ہوتی ہے پھول کا رنگ مائل بہ سرخی ہوتا ہے اور پھل نیلا سیاہی مائل رنگ رکھتا ہے اور اس کی شکل خوشے لہ سی ہوتی ہے اور شراب کی سی بو آتی ہے (لاط : Sambucas Nigra)
- (۲) چھوٹی قسم گھاس کی طرح ہوتی ہیں پتے بادام کے پتوں کی طرح ہوتے ہیں جن کے کنارے کٹواں ہوتے ہیں . ہر گرہ پر پھل لگتے ہیں اس کی بو بھاری ہوتی ہے اس کی شاخوں کے سرے پر بھی گھنڈیاں ہوتی ہیں بیچ رائی کے دانے کے برابر اور جڑ انگلی کے برابر موٹی ہوتی ہے رنگ سرخ تیرہ ہوتا ہے . سفید رنگ کے چھوٹے چھوٹے پھولوں کے کچھے ہوتے ہیں جو باہم مل کر ایک بڑا سا پھول بناتے ہیں (لاط : Sambucus Ebulus)
