حُمّاض (رک) کی ایک قسم اس کے پتے سخت اور کاسنی کے پتوں کی طرح ہوتے ہیں. پتّے زمین پر بچھے ہوتے ہیں ساق چھوٹی ہوتی ہے. بیج سیاہ سرخی مائل ہوتے ہیں اور پھول نہیں آتے، پیڑ نیلوفر کی طرح، جڑ چقندر کی طرح اور مزہ حماضِ بستانی کی طرح ہوتا ہے، چوکا آبی یہ قابض، مقوی و مفرّحِ قلب اور مسکنِ صفراء ہے
