- ईश्वर। परमात्मा।

- वेदांत दर्शन के अनुसार वह एक मात्र चेतन, नित्य और मूल सत्ता जो अखंड, अनंत, अनादि, निर्गुण और सत्, चित् तथा आनंद से युक्त कही गई है। विशेष साधारणतः यही सत्ता सारे विश्व या सृष्टि का मूल कारण मानी जाती है। परन्तु अधिक गम्भीर दार्शनिक दृष्टि से यह माना जाता है कि यही जगत् का निमित्त भी है और उपादान भी। इसी आधार पर यह जगत उस ब्रह्म का विवर्त (देखें) मात्र माना जाता है, और कहा जाता है कि ब्रह्म ही सत्य है, और बाकी सब मिथ्या या उसका आभास मात्र है। प्रत्येक तत्त्व और प्रत्येक वस्तु के कण कण में ब्रह्म की व्याप्ति मानी जाती है, और कहा जाता है कि अंत या नाश होने पर सबका इसी ब्रह्म में लय होता है।
